MIAMI – An investigation into the death is ongoing after the body of a man was found in a truck parked on the side of the Palmetto Expressway on Monday.

The discovery resulted in a section of State Road 826/Palmetto Expressway being closed to traffic.

The northbound lanes between Okeechobee Road and NW 103rd Street were closed around 12:30 p.m. By 2 p.m., several lanes were open, but only the right two were blocked, causing traffic to back up to NW 36th Street.

Chopper4’s photos showed a pick-up truck parked on the right shoulder with the driver’s side window covered with a yellow tarp.

Multiple law enforcement agencies rushed to the scene, including the Florida Highway Patrol and Hialeah Police Department.

The police are continuing their investigation.

Traffic was disrupted for hours.
