Police are looking for this Volvo linked to ballot box fires in Oregon and Washington

Law enforcement officials have linked a black or dark-colored Volvo S-60 to two ballot box fires on Monday and a third earlier this month.

It may not be easy to find the car — and the person or people believed to have used it to attack ballot drop boxes in Portland and Vancouver. The car was missing a front license plate, and police called it an “unknown rear license plate.”

According to Oregon Driver & Motor Vehicle Services, drivers have registered 3,828 Volvo S-60s in Oregon alone. Of these, only 558 have valid registrations, meaning the rest have been deleted, expired or transferred.

Police ask anyone with information about the Volvo or the ballot box tampering to contact Detective Meredith Hopper at [email protected] or the PF&R Fire Investigation Unit tip line at 503-823-FIRE (3473 ) and the reference case number to call 24-276181.
