Paralympic snowboarder Zach Miller rescues man from burning truck – NBC 6 South Florida

Paralympic snowboarder Zach Miller says he’s adding “firefighter” to his resume.

The Beijing 2022 U.S. Olympic team representative was riding his motorcycle on a highway in Parleys Canyon, Utah, when he saw white smoke rising from a pickup truck that was also driving on the road.

Miller, who was on his way to a snowboard training session, quickly jumped into action. And everything was captured on his GoPro camera.

The video showed a fire in the truck’s wheel well as Miller frantically waved at the driver to get his attention. The truck driver then stopped and was shocked when the 22-year-old told him what had happened.

“Literally on fire?” asked the driver, Miller.

The two then quickly opened the hood of the truck and extinguished the flames with water bottles.

“This is a reminder to always have some fire protection in your car in case something similar happens to you or someone you share the road with!” Miller wrote on Instagram.

Miller, a native of Colorado, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at six months of age and began snowboarding at age eight.

He has won two World Championships, most recently in 2022 in the Men’s Banked Slalom SB-LL2.
