Today, the Green Bay Packers face one of their biggest challenges in the first half of their 2024 schedule. The Packers will host one of the AFC’s top teams, the Houston Texans, who enter Week 7 with a 5-1 record.

Houston is a bit strange though; They only have a net point differential of +8 after being eliminated in their only loss to the Minnesota Vikings earlier this season. Otherwise, four of their five wins have come by six points or fewer, and they feature a banged-up defense that has allowed at least 20 points in four of five games.

However, the Texans have plenty of weapons on both sides of the football. Second-year quarterback CJ Stroud was the Offensive Rookie of the Year last year, and the Texans added veteran star Stefon Diggs to the receiving corps in the offseason. Meanwhile, they have a fearsome pass rush led by Will Anderson, Jr. and former Viking Danielle Hunter. This Texans defense has allowed opposing quarterbacks the lowest completion rate of any NFL team, and their sack rate of 9.5% ranks fourth in the league.

The Packers, on the other hand, rank 4th in the NFL with a point differential of +41, behind only the other three teams in their division. Their sack rate allowed is just 4.3%, third in the league, meaning this game represents strength versus strength in the trenches when the Packers have the football.
