A tornado warning is in effect until 3 a.m. for several counties in northeast Oklahoma

Counties included are:

3. Delaware
4. Haskell
5. Latimer
6. McIntosh
7. Mayes
8. Muskogee
9. Okfuskee
10. Okmulgee
11. Pittsburg
12. Sequoyah
13. Fuhrman

Oklahoma’s Halloween forecast:

The extended Halloween forecast looks favorable, while Friday will bring significantly cooler weather.

Strong southerly winds of 20 to 35 mph will continue and temperatures will reach the lower 80s. Following Wednesday’s storms, clear and cooler conditions are expected Thursday, with morning lows in the upper 40s to lower 50s and afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Halloween evening offers ideal conditions as temperatures dip into the 50s and the wind gradually dies down during peak trick-or-treating time.

Looking ahead:

However, rain and storms are expected to return on Saturday evening and continue until Monday, with the possibility of very heavy rainfall in the form of a “training rain”.

With rainfall in excess of 10cm forecast in some areas, localized flooding could be a concern. However, with lakes and rivers currently dry, major flooding is unlikely.

1. Ongoing road construction between I-44 and the Arkansas River Bridge, with roadway and ramp closures through spring 2025.

US 75 Bridge Rehabilitation

1. Lane closures at 7th St. and exit closures to 7th St. until fall 2024 for bridge renovation.

Rehabilitation of the US 412 Bridge

1. Until February 2025, US-412 was located at 81st W. Ave. narrowed to two lanes in Sand Springs.
