OU opens the National Weather Festival on October 26th

NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) – The University of Oklahoma is preparing for one of the largest events, drawing thousands to the National Weather Festival each year.

According to organizers, the event, hosted by the National Weather Center, will feature weather-related organizations, Oklahoma Mesonet and the Storm Prediction Center, and will feature meteorologists from your favorite local news stations.

The festival is designed to be a fun family event with educational activities for all ages who want to get up close and personal with helicopters, emergency vehicles, hourly weather balloon launches and drone demonstrations.

DETAILS:

Date: October 26, 2024 (*Saturday*)
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m

Free public parking is available in the Lloyd Noble Center parking lot. Shuttles run between the LNC and the NWC. Starting at 9:45 a.m., every 15 to 20 minutes, with a break from 12 to 12:30 p.m. The last run takes place at 2:20 p.m.
