Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom met for the first time over a hamburger at the 2016 Golden Globes and have been one of the cutest couples in Hollywood ever since.

After a brief separation in 2017, Katy and Orlando became engaged in 2019 and welcomed their daughter Daisy Dove Bloom the following year.

It goes without saying that Katy and Orlando are each other’s biggest fans, so when the MTV VMAs last night were looking for a special guest to introduce Katy, there seemed to be only one man for the job.

In case you missed it, Katy was this year’s recipient of the MTV Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award and as usual, the winner thrilled her fans with a jam-packed performance of her biggest hits.

Before Katy’s 10-minute medley – which included songs like “California Gurls,” “Teenage Dream” and “I Kissed a Girl” – Orlando was invited onstage to give a glowing introduction praising his fiancée’s “remarkable” talent.

“You fell in love with her as Katy Perry. I fell in love with her as Katheryn Hudson,” he began, calling her by her birth name.

The pirates of the Caribbean The star went on to say that Katy’s music has brought “a sense of joy and laughter” to fans and inspired “generations of people from all over the world.”

After her energetic, gravity-defying performance, Orlando presented Katy with her trophy. And in her acceptance speech, she returned the favor with a sweet shout-out to him and their four-year-old daughter.

“Thanks to Orlando for keeping me grounded, celebrating me and doing the dishes,” she said, recalling her recent confession about her life at home on the Call her daddy Podcast. “And finally for my Daisy, the only flowers I will ever need.”
