Shining eyes18 April

Turn around Shining eyesConor Oberst has a lot to announce. The enduring emo project has announced an extensive 2025 tour, hitting Boston’s Citizens House of Blues on April 18, and with the news comes new music in the form of “Rainbow Overpass.” It’s another track from Bright Eyes’ September album Five dice, all three. The punchy new song features some horns and gang vocals from The So So Glos’ Alex Orange Drink. “(AOD is) kind of like my hype man, bringing a little Beastie Boys shit! They grew up listening to punk rock and the Beasties, so there’s a lot of little bursts of other voices. I like that. It creates energy. Sometimes music can feel flat until you get into a live situation when the adrenaline and raw energy is there. Rather than work the other way around, which happens on our tours, I tried to bring some of that energy to the record.” Tickets go on sale Friday (August 9) at 10 a.m. local time.
