Omaha teenager injured in shooting at Lincoln Haymarket after concert

LINCOLN, Nebraska (KOLN) – Police are investigating a shooting that occurred late Thursday night at the Haymarket in Lincoln following a concert at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

The Sexxy Red concert at the PBA had just ended when shots were fired at around 11:15 p.m., injuring a 19-year-old Omaha man. Officers found the victim outside the Hyatt Hotel near Canopy and Q streets. The victim was taken to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the right arm.

“There is currently no danger to the public,” Winkler said, adding that authorities are still searching for the suspect or suspects responsible.

Winkler reported that officers were already on site after the concert to direct traffic when they heard several gunshots and found the victim.

Two concertgoers told 10/11 that they were leaving the arena with others when the shooting occurred. They said security escorted them back into the arena, where they stayed for about 10 minutes before being allowed to leave.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Lincoln Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
