Las Vegas resident Rose Zhang missed a medal in the final round of the women’s golf competition at the Paris Olympics.

Lydia Ko, a 27-year-old New Zealander, secured an automatic place in the LPGA Hall of Fame, taking home a gold medal with 10-under-par 278 after a final round of 1-under-par 71. Ko had already won the silver medal in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and the bronze medal in Tokyo in 2021.

German Esther Henseleit finished the match with a birdie-birdie and a score of 66 (six under par) to take silver, two strokes behind at eight under par and 280 points. Chinese Xiyu Lin managed a birdie on the last hole and came in bronze with a score of 69 (three under par) and 281 points.

Zhang, who was in third place at the start of the day, finished with two birdies on the final three holes to shoot 2-over 74, leaving her in eighth place at 5-under 283.

Zhang played effective tennis with Miyu Yamashita on the ninth green, chipping from one side of the green to the other, back and forth, until both made double bogey.
