Olympic Games in Wales: Running, cycling, swimming – Welsh medal chances on Friday

For Welsh Olympic spectators, the 14th day of the Games in Paris begins early.

Hector Pardoe will dive into the Seine at 06:30 CEST for the men’s 10 km marathon swim.

Pardoe and the other open water swimmers finally got an induction session for the competition in the Seine on Wednesday after preparations had to be cancelled five times due to pollution in the river.

In the afternoon, the Welsh people’s interest turns to the outskirts of Paris with Emma Finucane Return to the track at the velodrome of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.

On Thursday, the 21-year-old from Carmarthen won bronze in the Keirin in addition to her gold medal in the women’s team sprint.

Barker – only the second Welshwoman after sailor Hannah Mills to achieve a hat-trick of Olympic podium finishes – will compete in the Madison with Neah Evans. 17:09 CEST.

Finally for Friday, Cardiff Sprinter Jeremiah Azzu will try to make up for the pain of his disqualification in the 100 m individual race.

On Thursday, 23-year-old Azu ran a strong first leg to help Great Britain qualify for the final of the 4x100m relay, which will be held 18:47 CEST at the Stade de France.
