Olivia Rodrigo said she ran into trouble with law enforcement over a mix-up during her Guts World Tour.

The singer-songwriter has spent the last few months on her world tour, playing more than 90 shows since February in support of her album offal. Their series of shows ended in October.

While promoting the newly released Netflix film of her tour, Rodrigo, 21, appeared on NBC The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday. She told the host that her trip hit a crisis when she returned to the US

“I got in trouble with the law for the first time in my life,” Rodrigo told comedian Jimmy Fallon. “We flew from Canada to Portland or something. We were at border control, I give them my passport and they said, ‘Okay, whatever.’ And they knock on the door and say, ‘We need Olivia.'”

Assuming she had been recalled for other reasons, Rodrigo said: “I was like, ‘I’ve only played a few shows. Maybe her daughter would like an autograph.’ And I come out at 3 a.m., delirious, and they take me into a room – and it’s an interrogation room, and there’s like a big cop (with) a gun.

“He asks, ‘Have you ever been arrested?’ I say, ‘No, I wasn’t arrested,'” the star said of their conversation. “He asks, ‘Are you sure?’ I’m like gaslighting (myself). I think, Oh my God, maybe I was arrested and I didn’t know it.

“He said, ‘You know, you could go to prison if you lie to a federal agent like that. This is really bad.’”

Rodrigo shared her feelings at the time, saying: “I’m freaking out. I think, ‘I won’t be allowed into America.’ I’m so scared I’m going to have a panic attack.

“After 30 minutes of questioning, (the officer) looks at me and asks, ‘What’s your name?’ (I said) “Olivia Rodrigo, so, R, O, D, R, I, G, O,” and he said, “Oh, there’s a girl that looks just like you, that’s your age, that has been arrested several times, and her name is Olivia Rodriguez.’

“Jimmy, I was fucked up,” the singer told Fallon. “I’m like, ‘You didn’t look at the name on that thing?'”

While Rodrigo expressed relief that the “crisis was averted,” Fallon wryly warned Olivia, who the officers wanted to question.

“Olivia Rodriguez, if you’re watching, be careful. “That’s the moral of the story – be careful,” he said Saturday Night Live Alum said. “Stay out of Canada.”

While she was performing her song “Love Is Embarrassing” in London in May, her leather bra top came loose at the back and fell almost completely down. A TikTok video captured the moment her top fell apart. Rodrigo held it while a backup dancer tried to help.

Despite the malfunction, Rodrigo continued with the complex choreography, making it difficult for the dancer to repair her top. The dancer followed her across the stage and tried to help the singer overcome the mishap.

“This is fucking embarrassing,” Rodrigo laughed when she brought up the situation. After she finished the song, she ran off the stage to fix her top and said, “I almost flashed you, but it’s okay now!”
