Magic at Mavericks tips and predictions

forecast

Mavericks 113, Magic 102

Money line

HAPPEN.

Without Banchero, the Magic are struggling offensively. I expect the Mavericks (-350) to win and cover, but I’ll put my bet on the spread.

Against the spread

BET MAVERICKS -8.5 (-105).

Last season, the Mavericks went 2-0 straight up against Orlando despite going 1-1 ATS. The Magic are going into this duel a little under the weather and will have to do without top scorer Banchero for the foreseeable future. Without him, Orlando had difficulty finding its footing and scoring opportunities in the loss to Cleveland, and his defensive presence will also be missed.

Both teams have had uneven performances at this early point in the season, but Dallas appears to be closer to gaining momentum. With Irving and Doncic forming one of the best guard tandems in the league, they provide a solid foundation as other Mavericks emerge to support. Dallas also has a head start as Carter struggles with injuries. The Mavs, who are 8-2 SU in their last 10 against Orlando and 3-2-1 ATS in their last 6 at home, could capitalize on the matchup and secure a win.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 221.5 (-110).

In their two meetings last season, the Magic and Mavericks split total points, combining for an average of 239.5 points. However, both teams go into this duel with weak offensives. Orlando has averaged just 104 points over the last two games, while Dallas has averaged 111 points per game this week. The Mavericks have reached the under in three of their last four games.

Both teams rank in the bottom half in possessions per game, with Orlando 22nd (103.3) and Dallas 25th (101.5). Banchero’s absence has a significant impact on Orlando’s scoring output, while Dallas continues to rely heavily on the scoring ability of Irving and Doncic. Under these circumstances, it’s likely we’ll see a lower scoring affair as both teams may find it difficult to generate consistent offense.
