Tips and predictions for Houston vs Oklahoma

forecast

Oklahoma 45, Houston 13

Money line

You definitely can’t play Oklahoma (-7000) because you’d be risking 70 times your potential winnings. In other words, for every $100 you risk, you’d only win $1.43.

As bad as Houston (+2000) was last week, nothing is certain and betting on such a clear favorite is a death blow and a terrible long-term strategy.

HAPPEN.

Against the spread

Take OKLAHOMA-27.5 (-118) because it was supposed to do the work at home.

The Sooners buried Temple last weekend, but they also benefited from a turnover rate of over 6. However, while the Cougars don’t commit nearly as many turnovers as the Owls, Houston probably can’t do much more offensively than Temple. UH was nearly beaten on home field by a Mountain West team. It’s been a disastrous start, and it’s going to get a lot worse.

Over/Under

The OVER 49.5 (-110) is the best move on the board.

While Houston struggled on offense and posted an under (their home loss to UNLV on August 31) and Oklahoma posted an under against Temple, it would not be a surprise to see the Sooners take control of the over here all by themselves.

QB Jackson-Arnold was in top form last weekend, throwing 4 touchdowns against the Owls, and he should be able to tear apart a Cougars team that put up a horrific performance last weekend.
