Oasis madness – ticket sales for comeback escalate

The announcement of the Oasis comeback is met with great enthusiasm. Tickets for the concerts in summer 2025 are in high demand.

Following the spectacular comeback announcement by Oasis, advance sales for the Britpop band’s tour in summer 2025 have started. Since 9 a.m. German time, fans can try to get tickets for concerts by the group around the brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher. First for the two performances in the Irish capital Dublin, then from 10 a.m. for the remaining 15 concerts in Great Britain.

The rush is gigantic. Hundreds of thousands are waiting in the ticket providers’ queues. The respective digital waiting rooms are packed to the seams. Just over 160,000 people can win tickets for the two concerts in Dublin – but the situation seems hopeless for hundreds of thousands. Even before the start at 9 a.m., the rush on the ticket portals escalates, it is almost impossible to get through. The provider Ticketmaster writes that it is trying to get the situation under control “as quickly as possible”.

However, this is not the case with another provider called Gigsandtours: On Saturday morning, the portal completely collapsed under the onslaught of Oasis fans. Nothing works anymore. A note says: “Please be patient with us. There are a lot of people on the website looking for tickets at the moment.”

Tickets for the reunion tour cost at least 86.50 euros for a seat, and at least 175 euros for standing room. The only problem is that hardly anyone can get hold of these tickets.

Oasis announced their reunion on Tuesday – almost 15 years to the day after singer Liam Gallagher and guitarist Noel Gallagher ended their collaboration because the brothers had a serious falling out. Interest in the band is now huge: Oasis’ streams quadrupled in Germany within one day of the announcement, GfK Entertainment said upon request.

Oasis became famous 30 years ago with the album “Definitely Maybe”. To mark the anniversary, the band released a birthday edition that also includes outtakes as well as demos and alternative versions of the songs.

Some fans already had the chance to secure tickets on Friday evening. Fans could apply for a so-called pre-sale and then try to get a ticket using a special code. The band spoke of “unprecedented demand”. Several million fans are said to have tried to get their hands on such a coveted code – but even then the majority of people were very disappointed.

The first show is planned for July 4th and 5th in Cardiff, Wales. The band will then play five concerts each at London’s Wembley Stadium and in Oasis’ hometown of Manchester, as well as three in the Scottish capital Edinburgh, before heading to Dublin for the final show. There is still speculation about a world tour, perhaps to the USA.
