Oasis announce two more shows for reunion tour | Music News

The British band, whose hits include “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” last played together in 2009.

Due to “phenomenal” demand from fans keen to see the band live for the first time in 15 years, Oasis have announced two additional dates for their comeback tour of the UK and Ireland.

The British group, whose debut album “Definitely Maybe” was released 30 years ago, split up in 2009 when lead guitarist and main songwriter Noel Gallagher said he could no longer work with singer Liam after a series of public disputes between the brothers.

The band initially announced 14 dates, with the first to take place in Cardiff in July, followed by nights in Manchester – where the band formed in 1991 -, London, Edinburgh and Dublin. Oasis also added three UK dates to the tour last week, with additional dates in Manchester, London and Edinburgh.

On Wednesday the band added two more dates.

“Due to huge demand, two additional shows at Wembley Stadium have been added,” the band told X, adding that they would take place on September 27 and 28, 2025.

In the chaotic scramble for tickets for the original 17 concerts over the weekend, there were rapid price increases, hours of waiting times on the Internet and technical glitches that dashed the hopes of some fans.

Dynamic pricing is a strategy in which companies increase their prices in response to high demand.

The price increases also prompted the British government to launch an investigation into the practice, which Culture Minister Lisa Nandy described as “depressing.”

She promised that the proposal would be reviewed as part of the government’s upcoming consultation on consumer protection in ticket sales and resale.

Oasis said they had “no knowledge at any time” that dynamic pricing would be used for ticket sales for the first dates, the band explained.

In a statement to PA Media, quoted by the BBC, the band also stated that decisions regarding ticket sales and pricing were the responsibility of the promoters and management.

“Tickets will be sold in a staggered lottery system by invitation only,” Oasis added on Wednesday.

“Applications to enter the prize draw will be made initially to the many UK fans who were unsuccessful in the initial sale on Ticketmaster,” the band noted.

Oasis – whose hits include “Wonderwall”, “Don’t Look Back in Anger” and “Champagne Supernova” – last played together in 2009.

Although the Gallagher brothers, now aged 57 and 51, have not performed together since then, both regularly play Oasis songs in their solo performances and have also voiced criticism of each other in the media.

When announcing the reunion, the band said their fans would experience “the spark and intensity” that only comes from sharing the stage together.
