NEW YORK – The New York Mets have a big opportunity ahead of them on Wednesday night.

They can claim a series win at Citi Field for the first time when they take on the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 4 of the National League Division Series in Flushing at 5:08 p.m. The Mets took a 2-1 series lead on Tuesday behind a strong start from Sean Manaea and home runs from Pete Alonso and Jesse Winker in a 7-2 victory.

“It means a lot to all of us that we have this opportunity, but we are facing a really good team,” said coach Carlos Mendoza. “We have to go out there, perform and play well.”

After getting off to a strong start in a winner-take-all NL Wild Card Game 3, Jose Quintana gives the Mets the go-ahead for their chance to secure their spot in the National League Championship Series.

With Ranger Suarez on the mound, the Phillies will look to force a must-win in Game 5 and a return to Philadelphia on Friday.
