A top star from NXT enjoys learning from the “great” CM Punk.

Since returning to WWE at Survivor Series in 2023, CM Punk has participated in several NXT tapings and has also appeared on-screen at Deadline. There have even been suggestions that Punk would eventually like to take over from Shawn Michaels as NXT boss when he retires.

One of the stars who wanted to learn from Punk during these visits is Roxanne Perez. The NXT Women’s Champion has never hidden her admiration for CM Punk, although she has previously said that she will not stop until she has fought AJ Lee.

In a new interview with Stephanie Chase, Perez talked about Punk’s help in NXT.

“I grew up watching him, I grew up wanting to be where he was and now I get to be under his learning tree… he’s just so great. I feel like he doesn’t have to do everything he does, he’ll literally just show up at the NXT pay-per-views.

He was just at the Las Vegas Battleground watching all of our games, so it’s really cool of him to put in so much effort and help us. If we need criticism or advice or anything, he’s always there.”

CM Punk returns to NXT

Meanwhile, it has been announced that CM Punk and Randy Orton will make special appearances on NXT in October.

The brand is scheduled to premiere on the CW Network on October 1st, with Punk appearing in a special episode at the All State Arena in Chicago. Seven days later, WWE’s third brand will appear at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis with special guest Randy Orton.

Punk was also present alongside Michaels at the final WWE tryouts during SummerSlam weekend.
