Nova High School in Seattle was placed on lockdown after a bullet went through the window

The Seattle Police Department (SPD) is investigating a shooting near Nova High School in Seattle that occurred just before 2 p.m. on Thursday

The SPD reported several emergency calls there in which there were several shots fired in the area.

A bullet penetrated the second floor window of Nova High, but no injuries were reported.

Nova High was placed on lockdown and neighboring Garfield High School was placed under a shelter-in-place order. According to KIRO 7, the lockdown orders have been lifted.

Investigator Eric Munoz with SPD said several vehicles were seen leaving the area. It is not yet known what intentions the people in these vehicles had.

“Two vehicles were seen fleeing the area. At this point, we do not know if the individuals involved were shooting at each other or at the school,” Munoz told KIRO Newsradio Thursday afternoon.
