NORTH HEMPSTEAD, NY – Tax Collector Mary Jo Collins will host 11 in-person property tax exemption seminars this fall to teach North Hempstead homeowners how to apply for important property tax exemptions.

To accommodate residents’ different schedules, there will be day and evening presentations between Sept. 5 and Nov. 21, she said in an announcement.

Residents can learn about STAR (Basic and Enhanced), Senior Citizen, Veterans and other tax exemptions that can help lower property taxes. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the application process.

Collins said she will provide helpful information brochures and application forms.

Reservations are not required but are recommended as some locations have limited seating, she said. To reserve your spot, please email [email protected] or call (516) 869-7800 and indicate which seminar you would like to attend.
