A 25-year-old North Carolina man has been charged with murder after he drove a semi-trailer into a group of people outside a Florida strip club last week, killing one and injuring two others.

Dylan Fogle was also charged with two counts of attempted murder, negligent homicide, two counts of driving while under the influence of alcohol causing serious bodily harm and one count of manslaughter while under the influence of alcohol, Tampa police said.

The incident occurred just after 4:15 a.m. on Tuesday. Fogle had been kicked out of Emperors Gentleman’s Club in Tampa for inappropriate behavior and returned with the truck, crashing into a group of people standing at the entrance.

Giovanni Soto was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two male victims suffered serious injuries but have since been released from the hospital.

Fogle was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries and doctors determined that his blood alcohol content was above the legal limit of .08.

In court, an investigator said that after being kicked out of the club, Fogle sent text messages saying he wanted to “hurt or run over someone,” WTVT reported.

Prosecutors showed screenshots of messages he sent to another friend, one of which read “Goodbye, I’m going to jail for involuntary manslaughter,” and another saying goodbye with a photo of his truck’s dashboard and a view of the club.

They also showed surveillance footage from the club and a video from the truck’s dashboard showing the accident.

Fogle is being held without bail.
