No decision on the future after a mixed result from Bryce Young on Sunday

It was hard to tell from his reaction, although Young isn’t prone to many outbursts. There were a few moments in the second half when television cameras caught him expressing this, and he admitted it.

“I mean, just a competitor,” Young said. “When there are things that aren’t going right, you get frustrated and then brush it off. I think we all have that. Nobody is satisfied with the result today. We all come to the sidelines and have our time. Be upset and then we delete it. I think it’s part of the business.

“You can wish you could make a throwback or make a decision or whatever, and then you have a minute or two and then when the ball’s back to you, you don’t remember it.”

And as was his wont, Young offered no pithy remarks when asked the inevitable question about whether to start over, saying, as he always has, that it was out of his control.

“Of course I’m grateful to be able to play,” he said. “I’m obviously a competitor and want to be on the field. But here too I trust the coaching staff: they will do the best for the team. That’s what I will do, no matter what role I play.” That means I will be one of the best on the team and do everything I can to contribute to winning football.

“And the nice thing about all of this for me is the relationship with Andy again. Great, great person, we’re really close. So we both know that no matter what the circumstances, we will be there for each other in friendship.”
