NFL odds and picks for Week 6

EAGLES (-9) over Browns

There’s this scene in Arrested Development where Tobias talks about how people trick themselves into thinking something might work when it obviously doesn’t… but “it might work for us.”

Call me delusional because this could work for us. I’m supporting another big favorite here.

Yes I know. The big favorites stunk. It’s the year of the dogs. You’re not wrong.

But have you seen Deshaun Watson play football this year?

You’ve seen in movies how a better QB plays on inferior teams.

The Browns are a disgrace with Watson under center, and the Eagles, fresh off a bye, should be motivated to start an easy stretch with a blowout.

The Browns’ once-vaunted defense has also been pretty unreliable this season, having suffered a 34-point loss to the Commanders last time out.

With the Eagles also able to get AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith back from injuries, Philadelphia should be on a roll.

Lions (-3) over COWBOYS

Dallas got a nice last-minute win against the Steelers last weekend, but is unprepared to deal with a physical Lions team coming off a bye week.

Detroit ranks sixth in rushing yards per game and the Cowboys are 24th, allowing 135 rushing yards per game.

Dallas’ defense also lost two strong defenders in Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence.

Betting on the NFL?

The Cowboys’ offense is also inconsistent, with Dak Prescott apparently forgetting that CeeDee Lamb exists in the second half of the game.

We trust the Lions to win this game by at least a field goal as Dallas tries to stay afloat while Parsons rushes the passer.

AT&T Stadium wasn’t a haven for the Cowboys this year either, as Dallas allowed 72 points (36 per game) and failed to cover the spread in either game.

Last week: 1-1. Packers (F), Saints (L)
Season: 3-7.
