New TFT revival brings back the long lost Dawn of Heroes

Riot Games brings Reckoning: Dawn of Heroes back to Teamfight Tactics. Set Revival returns for a limited time and will revive old champions and traits from the auto-battler’s Set 5.5. After the very first Set Revival for Galaxies took place earlier this year, this second version of the game mode gives you the chance to relive some of the most glory days.

The fifth Teamfight Tactics set of 2021 feels like it was a lifetime ago. It was here that we first saw the core parts of the auto-battler like Tome of Traits, Divine Blessing, and Radiant Items. These are all staples of TFT today, but in 5.5 they were completely new. If you want to relive that feeling and return to 2021, then the upcoming Revival: Dawn of Heroes game mode is for you.

There’s a lot to explore in TFT’s next Revival set, so here’s exactly what you can expect. First off, a new progression system called the Revival Ladder will help you grab more ranks and free rewards. Then there’s the updated Ceremony, where Pingu descends on your board and gives you buffs for all your units.

Revival won’t be exactly the same, however, as augmentations are being added into the event after the fact. When Revival: Dawn of Heroes originally launched, there were no augmentations, but now there are, so you can expect something special. You get Kalista and Nunu for the Abomination trait, which has the monstrosity equipping an axe, and Death Approaches now allows Thresh to latch onto the furthest enemy and deal more damage.

Riot Games makes Team Fight Tactics Revival: Dawn of Heroes available on PC and mobile from Wednesday, September 25th to Monday, November 4th. That’s between 14.19 and 14.21 if you’ve been counting.

The new TFT Tocker’s Trials PvE mode is also still available ahead of the new revival, so if you haven’t tried it out yet, you have until Tuesday, September 24th.

We also have the best TFT meta compositions if you’re stuck on who to take with you into your next fight. If you’d rather play Riot’s MOBA instead, our LoL tier list for Patch 14.17 will tell you who’s hot right now, and unfortunately, who’s not.
