NC Elections 2024 | Friday, October 11, North Carolina voter registration deadline; Early voting takes place from October 17th to November 2nd

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) — Friday is the voter registration deadline.

However, voters who miss this deadline can register and vote at an early voting site in their county. Early voting runs from Thursday, October 17th to November 2nd.

ABC11 took a look inside one of the 22 Wake County counties that will be open next Thursday. Growth in the county is leading to some changes to this year’s polling locations.

They added six more polling locations for Election Day, bringing the total countywide to 212. In total, there are 22 early voting sites.

There are currently over 850,00 registered voters in Wake County, up from 794,494 in 2020.

This year, voters must bring their ID to cast their ballot.

“If not, the most important thing is that we help you. There is a solution for you, so call us. We’ll show you where to find this acceptable list. If you don’t have one of these, our office is here to actually print free photo IDs for those people,” said Olivia McCall, the director of the Wake County Board of Elections.

The deadline to request a postal vote is October 29th and election day is November 5th.
