NBK launches payment verification service

The National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) has announced the launch of a new service that allows customers to confirm their payment transactions online through the NBK Mobile Banking app.

To further reinforce its commitment to secure and streamlined products and services, NBK is launching a payment verification solution that provides a fast and secure method for online payments. The NBK Secure Shopping service allows customers to confirm all online transactions directly through the banking app without having to enter an OTP.

The National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) has announced the launch of a new service that allows customers to confirm their payment transactions online through the NBK Mobile Banking app.

At the time of the announcement, the service was available to holders of NBK debit cards (for international spending only), NBK foreign currency prepaid cards and NBK multi-currency prepaid cards. To benefit from it, according to the bank, customers must enable NBK push notifications. Users can then make purchases through the NBK Mobile Banking app and will receive a push notification that they can click to be redirected to the app to confirm the payment. However, if the push notification service is not enabled, customers must go to the app and follow the steps provided to confirm the transaction.

NBK’s development strategy

The latest news follows NBK’s announcement of the launch of Instant Payment Service (WAMD) on its app. The solution is part of K-Net’s launch of a new domestic account-to-account payment system in the region, which is approved and supervised by the Central Bank of Kuwait. Regarding the launch of the payment verification service, NBK officials mentioned the bank’s commitment to offering its customers additional products that suit their needs, requirements and lifestyles.

In addition, NBK intends to focus on consolidating its digital capabilities through services included in its mobile banking app. Through this, the bank aims to provide its customers with a secure platform to manage their finances regardless of time and place. In addition, the service focuses on facilitating a range of banking activities, including opening new accounts, monitoring transactions on accounts and credit cards, accessing accumulated NBK Miles and NBK Rewards Program points, settling credit card dues, making e-bill payments, locating branches, ATMs and CDMs across Kuwait and updating personal information, to name a few. The bank’s mobile banking app is currently available for download on the App Store, Google Play and Huawei AppGallery.
