Nashville Predators vs. Florida Panthers live score: highlights, stats, TV channel

The Nashville Predators will face the reigning Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers for the second game in a row on Thursday.

Nashville (4-8-1) played better in Wednesday’s 3-2 loss to the Washington Capitals, but it was the third regulation loss in four games for the Predators with Florida leading in a row.

Florida (9-3-1) has won five straight games, including a two-game win over Dallas in Finland last weekend. The Panthers have not played since November 2nd. Sam Rinehart is tied for the league lead in goals with 10 and is on pace to either match or surpass his 94-point season from last year.

Nashville was the second-best team throughout the game, but managed to score a game-winning PK later in the period. However, Florida begins the second period with a power play at 1:55.

The defensive pairings switched towards the end of the first period, with Brady Skjei teaming up with Luke Schenn and Roman Josi teaming up with Marc Del Gaizo. Josi and Skjei were -2 during this period and were on the ice together for both goals in 5-on-5 play.

Florida manages a 2-on-1 duel and Matthew Tkachuk buries the rebound of his own shot (or a pass?) in the dirt, providing the Panthers’ second goal in the first five minutes and the transition. Not good!

Sam Rinehart races around the net and finally scores with a wrap attempt, which is initially blocked by Scott Wedgewood but is pinballed into the net. Roman Josi’s puck may have bounced off his skate or leg.

Nashville scored the first goal last night, but fell behind again early tonight.

Wedgewood was out of position, then made a save and still allowed the goal due to an unlucky jumper. The headaches of a 4-8-1 hockey team.

The Predators say Colton Sissons is dealing with an upper-body injury and will not play in Florida tonight. Mark Jankowski moves into the lineup and will open on the second line with Jonathan Marchessault and Gustav Nyquist.

The Nashville Predators vs. Florida Panthers game will be televised on FanDuel Sports Network South, with streaming available on FUBO and ESPN+ (outside the Nashville TV market).
