SAN ANTONIO – Happy (almost) Halloween! Welcome to the last weekend of the month!

I hope you’re as excited as I am because this weekend we get to celebrate a beloved tradition in the Alamo City: Muertos. If you’re wondering how to find parking at the event, check out our guide to help you get there.

Halloween falls on Thursday this year, so you still have some time to see out this spooky season. This weekend you can check out pumpkin patches, haunted houses, or even head to some locations that host trick-or-treating events. If you’re interested in pumpkin carving or dressing up early this year, show us via KSAT Connect! We love seeing everyone’s creations and spooky costumes.

Here is the list of fun events this weekend:

Happening on the weekend:

  • CAVERN bat festival in autumn: Natural Bridge Caverns is hosting its Cavern Fall Fest at 26495 Natural Bridge Caverns Road October 26-27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free trick-or-treating will be offered from 3 to 5 p.m. The festival is free with a purchased Natural Bridge Caverns ticket.
  • DAY OF THE DEAD: La Villita hosts a Day of the Dead celebration from October 25th to 27th. There will be live music, altar building workshops and more. Celebrations include a river parade on October 27 at 7 p.m. Further information can be found here.
  • “HAPPY FRIGHTS” & “HAUNTING NIGHTS”: During Happy Frights, guests can score photo opportunities with a jack-o-lantern or adventure through a neon light maze through October 31st. Check-in begins at 5:00 p.m. at the San Antonio Botanical Garden. Haunting Nights begins at 8 p.m. The night experience includes a pumpkin tunnel, a maze full of surprises in the neon maze and more.   • MARKET DAYS: Visit the Pearl for Farmers Market every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to shop for local produce and meats. You can also head to Markers Market every Sunday from 10am to 2pm to view and shop from over 40 local artisans and markers who produce culinary-inspired homewares such as pottery and woodcraft. The Pearl is located at 303 Pearl Pkwy.
  • WEEKEND AT THE MARKET SQUARE: Every weekend in October from 10am to 6pm, enjoy a day at the Market Square full of music, food stalls and active artists.
  • MUERTOS FESTIVAL: Honor and celebrate loved ones who have passed away at the 12th annual Día de los Muertos Festival, also known as Muertos Fest, on October 26th from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. in Hemisfair and October 27th from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Hemisfair. The festival is free and more information can be found online. KSAT will air a special broadcast of the celebration on KSAT-12, KSAT.com and KSAT+ on October 30 from 7 to 9 p.m.
  • PUMPKIN SPOT: Many places have brought back traditional and fun fall activities this weekend. Places like BellCreek Acres, Devine Acres Farm, Uhland Fall Fest and more are some places to visit for a fun day on the patch. For more information about opening hours and prices, see our story!
  • SPACECON SAN ANTONIO: The convention will feature starting players like Josh Brolin, Hayden Christensen and Rosario Dawson from October 25th to 27th. There will also be a Trek or Treat raffle, panel discussions, photo opportunities and more. Click here to read our story for more information. Fans can purchase passes here.
  • TRICK-OR-TREAT EVENTS: As Halloween approaches, there will be trick-or-treating events in several locations for the whole family! Check out our story to see the list of locations hosting these events.
  • ZOO BOO: The San Antonio Zoo continues its annual Zoo Boo event through October 31st. Free trick-or-treating takes place during the last hour of zoo operations. You can buy your tickets here.

Friday, October 25th

  • BILLY JOEL & STING: The singer will perform at the Alamodome, 100 Montana St., at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online.
  • FOURTH FRIDAY: There will be an evening at The Rock at La Cantera on October 25th from 6pm to 10pm with live music, a market and food. Admission to the event is free.

Saturday, October 26th

  • DOG-O-WEEN: If you want to show off your adorable furry friend in a costume, stop by Camp Outpost’s dog costume contest at 1811 S. Alamo St. from 5 to 8 p.m. The Footbridge Foundation will be on site for guests who wish to also adopt a puppy at the event.
  • HELLO KITTY CAFE TRUCK: If you are a Hello Kitty fan, you should visit the Hello Kitty Cafe Truck on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The truck is parked at the corner of the Loop 410 access road and McCullough Avenue. There will be great collectibles such as tote bags, pins, hoodies and more for fans to purchase. Cash will not be accepted at the event.
  • MACY GRAY: Sing with Macy Gray as she performs at the Aztec Theater, 104 S St. Mary’s St., at 7 p.m. Tickets are available online.
  • SAN ANTONIO SPORS: The City team will play the Houston Rockets at Frost Bank Center at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available online.

Sunday, October 27th

  • PCT of BEXAR COUNTY. 2 AUTUMN FESTIVAL: Bexar County Parks and Recreation will host a Free Fall Festival at Rodriguez Park, 2060 Rodriguez Ave. on October 27 from noon to 4 p.m. There will be trick-or-treating, a costume contest, live music and more free activities at the festival.
  • FREE COMMUNITY YOGA: Mobile Om Yoga and the San Antonio River Foundation are offering free one-hour yoga sessions at Confluence Park, 310 W. Mitchell St., every Sunday from 10 to 11 a.m. through Nov. 24.
