“Ms Pat takes care of it”: The wedding cake was crooked | News

Tonight’s episode of Ms. Pat Settles It is all about ex-boyfriends, big sister versus little sister, and former lovers who clashed. Karlous Miller, Tamar Braxton, Deray Davis and Carmen Barten connect Mrs Pat as jurors in all three cases, where Ms. Pat uses her own discretion to decide, applying the principles of common sense, street justice, logic, and a little humor. In the case of a crooked wedding cake, an illegally used food delivery account and non-payment for transcription services are the highlights of the cases discussed in this latest episode.

Cortez Sherrod vs. Charles Israel

Cortez Sherrod is suing his ex Charles Israel for $1,000 for constantly ordering food through his delivery app. Charles says he ordered food, but Cortez also ate, so he’s not responsible for what happened right under his nose. You know how it is: Cortez says one thing and Israel says another. The drama gets us thinking when we find out their ex-fiancés still live together. They split up because Charles caught Cortez cheating in 4k. Ultimately, Ms. Pat rules in favor of the defendant.

The judgment: Charles doesn’t have to pay Cortez back the money because he knew what was happening the whole time his account was being used. He could have changed his password at any time, but he didn’t, probably because he wanted to keep his ex in his pocket, and that backfired.

The lesson: Change your passwords when you break up with someone, even if you live with them.

Crystal Coleman vs. Sheshe Davis

Crystal Coleman and Sheshe Davis were friends while they were in a cell serving a federal sentence. And that’s where the drama started. Crystal is suing her now former friend and cellmate Sheshe for $4,000 for transcription services. Davis finds she doesn’t have to pay the money because she gave Crystal $1,000 while also rebuilding her credit. She says she made Crystal’s credit so good that Crystal’s grandson was able to go to prom and pay with one of the credit cards Crystal was able to get (legally) once her credit was rebuilt. Crystal has proof of the deal they made, but Sheshe’s credit-rebuilding skills really appealed to Ms. Pat. And the jury, and that was enough for Mrs. Pat to decide in her favor.

The judgment: She gave Crystal $1,000 and then rebuilt her credit, so she should give the money back because rebuilding her credit makes her even. Most importantly, they also need to repair their friendship, and they can start by hugging each other.

The lesson: It’s either a business or a friendship, so make sure your contracts are binding.

Carol Montgomery vs April Fletcher

Carol Montgomery is suing her big sister April Fletcher for $475 because her wedding cake was a flop. April thinks the cake was a hit and her sister is a bridezilla. She also thinks her little sister should be grateful because she doesn’t pay for cakes that cost more than $800. However, Carol proves that the cake did not match the photo she sent her sister and that it was crooked. The two sisters only agreed that at least it tasted good. Ultimately, Mrs. Pat ruled in favor of plaintiff April because it was clear that the cake was not the best and Carol didn’t even seem to really feel remorse for doing a poor job for her little sister.

The judgment: April doesn’t owe anything, but they need to mend their relationship.

The lesson: Don’t compromise just because it’s about family.
