Eastwood has directed Freeman in three of his films, including 2004’s “Million Dollar Baby” and 2009’s “Invictus.”

Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman are hanging out in California!

On Monday, October 14, Freeman, 87, and his producing partner Lori McCreary shared a photo on Instagram of Freeman posing with Eastwood, 94, and a third man while writing that he was seeing Eastwood at the 2024 Monterey Jazz Festival an award was presented at the end of September.

“It was my great pleasure to present my friend Clint Eastwood with the inaugural Clint Eastwood Award for Cultural Leadership at the @MontereyJazzFestival this past weekend. “Clint is a true musician: pianist, composer and jazz lover!” Freeman wrote in a caption to his post. “We had a wonderful time listening to the incredible music of Kyle Eastwood and Mavis Staples!”

Eastwood, best known for his legendary work in Hollywood as an actor, writer, director and producer with four Oscar wins, sits on the board of the Monterey Jazz Festival, according to its website. Eastwood’s eldest son Kyle, 56, performed at the California Jazz Festival on September 29 with his project Eastwood Symphonic, which featured a jazz quintet with an orchestral ensemble playing music from his father’s films. The festival also included a conversation with Kyle about his work in film and music, as well as Clint’s films.

Producer McCreary, who co-founded Revelations Entertainment with Freeman, also shared a photo of him and Eastwood posing together at the festival on Instagram on October 3, writing that she had a “fantastic time” at the festival .

Eastwood and Freeman have a long history; The pair starred in Eastwood’s 1992 Western Unforgivableand they reunited on screen in Eastwood’s 2004 boxing drama Million dollar baby. In 2009, Eastwood directed Freeman again Invictusin which Freeman portrayed the late South African President Nelson Mandela.

This isn’t the first time Eastwood has been honored at the Monterey Jazz Festival. Back in 2007, Berklee College of Music awarded Eastwood an honorary doctorate during the festival, citing his interest in jazz through his film soundtracks, his individual work as a composer, and documentaries Eastwood made about important jazz figures.

Even at the age of 94, Eastwood is preparing for the release of his latest film as a director: Juror #2in select theaters on November 1st; The film stars Nicholas Hoult, Toni Collette, Zoey Deutch, Kiefer Sutherland, Gabriel Basso, Leslie Bibb, Chris Messina and JK Simmons. Eastwood last released a film in 2021 Scream machoin which he also played the lead role.

Freeman also continues to act frequently and appeared in two films in 2024 including My dead friend Zoe And gunner.
