The 162nd Wayne County Fair in northern Honesdale has been hit by frequent rain showers this week. Heavy rain on Friday led to the cancellation of tonight’s monster truck show before a second announcement saying the fair would be closed for the day.

The show’s Facebook page reported that Monster Truck tickets purchased with a credit card will be automatically refunded within three to five business days. Ticket holders were advised to check their emails for confirmation.

“Anyone who purchased tickets to Friday night’s Monster Truck Show in person at the fairgrounds and paid for them with cash must bring the tickets to the main office at the fairgrounds or return them for a full refund. The mailing address is 270 Miller Drive Honesdale PA 18431,” the announcement said.

The fair management announced that tickets for the monster truck show on Saturday evening, the last day of the fair, were still available online or at the box office on the fairgrounds.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” the announcement said.

The fairgrounds will remain open from noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday. The National Weather Service has forecast sunny weather for Saturday. It will be the only sunny day since the fair began on August 2.
