Here you will find coverage of Election Day 2024 and the election results.

State Representative Monroe Nichols and Tulsa County Commissioner Karen Keith are running for mayor of Tulsa, the biggest local race this election.

Monroe Nichols and Karen Keith have represented Oklahoma in various roles.

Representative Nichols was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 2016.

When News On 6 hosted a debate between the candidates, Nichols said he has a plan to end homelessness within six years.

A watch party for his supporters will be held at the Greenwood Cultural Center in downtown Tulsa.

Commissioner Karen Keith said the biggest problem in Tulsa right now is homelessness. She said she plans to get at least 200 families off the streets in a year.

Keith has been a Tulsa County Commissioner since 2008.

Their watch party is tonight at the Stokely Event Center.

What to know about Tulsa mayoral candidate Monroe Nichols:

Rep. Nichols received the most votes in the mayoral race and now hopes his policy-focused message has resonated enough with voters to become the city’s next mayor.

Rep. Nichols made clear the need to work closely with tribal partners. He said we must work with tribes on everything from public safety to entrepreneurship.

He also plans to create a mayor’s office for children, youth and families to help with education.

He also says that every single student in Tulsa deserves a chance at a good education, no matter what a child experiences at home.

This also fits with his other priorities of creating more affordable housing and ending homelessness

His wake party will be held at the Greenwood Cultural Center and is open to the public.

What to know about Tulsa mayoral candidate Karen Keith:

Karen Keith placed second in the August primary, less than 300 votes behind Nichols.

Keith has been a Tulsa County Commissioner since 2008.

She said that throughout her campaign she felt that her 16 years as a Tulsa County commissioner had prepared her to lead the city of Tulsa.

Keith voted bright and early with her family at the Philbrook Museum on Tuesday.

Before becoming county commissioner in 2008, she worked under former Tulsa Mayor Bill LaFortune and had a close relationship with Mayor GT Bynum.

She says the city’s biggest problem is homelessness and she wants to address that problem with a combination of affordable housing, shelter and treatment options.

Keith is a Democrat but prides herself as a nonpartisan leader and believes the city needs someone who can work across party lines.

She says she wants to fight crime in the city, she supports the police and she wants to find ways to implement city projects more quickly.

Keith says running for mayor isn’t a stepping stone for her, but rather a chance to continue giving back.

“I enjoyed it, and I think my favorite part was just meeting so many Tulsans throughout the city, in some areas where I haven’t done much because my district as a county commissioner is downtown lay, and Jenks.” and all the way west,” Keith said.

Keith will be hosting a watch party at the Stokely Event Center with family, friends and supporters.
