Monday Night Football: Ravens dominate Buccaneers, Cardinals stun Chargers with game-winning field goal

Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens had no problems on Monday night.

The Ravens earned a commanding 41-31 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first game of a Monday Night Football doubleheader at Raymond James Stadium in Florida. It was their fifth straight win and moved them to 5-2 on the season.

After immediately falling into a 10-point hole, the Ravens scored 34 unanswered points to completely stun Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers. Jackson threw five touchdowns, two of which went to tight end Mark Andrews, and Derrick Henry had 169 rushing yards thanks in part to a wild 81-yard run in the second half.

The Buccaneers scored 21 points in the fourth quarter, but their push came far too late to give them a realistic chance of winning. They also lost star wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Godwin suffered a serious leg injury in the final minutes and had to be stretchered off the pitch.

In the other game of the evening, Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals went on a perfect winning streak, defeating the Los Angeles Chargers 17-15 at State Farm Stadium.

After conceding a fifth field goal to Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker and falling behind by a point just after the two-minute warning, the Cardinals quickly marched down the field and set up a game-winning 32-yard field goal from Chad Ryland.

Justin Herbert threw for 349 yards but no touchdown in the Chargers’ loss. He led them on a long eight-minute drive in the fourth quarter and set up Dicker’s fifth field goal, but they left too much time for James Conner and the Cardinals. Conner ran for 101 yards, had another 51 receiving yards and set up the final field goal with a massive 33-yard reception on the winning drive.

With the win, Arizona moves to 3-4 on the season while the Chargers fall to 3-3.
