Monday is the deadline for registration in Florida

Monday is the deadline to register to vote in Florida if you plan to vote in the upcoming general election on Tuesday, November 5th.

The easiest way is to register online at your county’s elections official website before midnight.

You can also stop by your local elections office supervisor to obtain an application form. However, you should check the opening times as you need to do this before the polls close on Monday.

“People are interested in doing their part in the presidential election, and the most important thing is … you have to be registered to vote,” Leslie Swan, elections director for Indian River County, told CBS12 News. “In Florida, you must be registered 29 days before Election Day. So there’s a deadline…we’re not like some other states where you can register to vote and vote the same day.”

Here are some important dates to mark on your calendar:

  • Election day is Tuesday, November 5th.
  • Early voting begins October 21 through November 2 in Okeechobee County, Indian River County, St. Lucie County and Martin County.
  • Early voting begins October 21st and ends November 3rd in Palm Beach County.
