MLB fans roasted Bob Costas after several Royals-Yankees bad decisions

As the New York Yankees and Kansas City Royals squared off during the ALDS, Bob Costas chattered on in the TBS broadcast booth.

Sometimes he was on topic. Other times he talked about absolutely anything and everything. At one point he even started quoting Mark Twain.

It wasn’t a pleasant experience for fans, and one moment in particular drew the ire of spectators, regardless of which team they supported. Costas completely botched a call on a play in the eighth inning where Vinnie Pasquantino hit a soft line drive that was caught short of the infield dirt by Anthony Volpe. His call made it seem like much, much more.

“Line drive base hit to center field. It was suffocated out there…I don’t know if it was caught. Oh my God. What a game,” Costas said, leaving fans completely at a loss as to what he said.

Definitely a questionable level of excitement for the second part of the inning. That wasn’t the only mistake he made either.

The collapsing Aaron Judge hit a fly ball deep into left field, although it didn’t quite reach the warning track. Costas’ over-the-top call made it seem like Judge had parked a doubter in the left field seats, only to leave Yankees fans disappointed when he was caught on a routine out.

Baseball fans did not hesitate to condemn Costas for his performance in the locker room throughout the series and to make their opinions heard on social media.
