The debut trailer for the Minecraft movie has now been released, offering fans their first official look at the live-action adaptation.

Warner Bros.’ “A Minecraft Movie” directed by Jared Hess is the first live-action adaptation of Minecraft for the big screen, officially the best-selling video game of all time with an incredible 300 million copies sold.

In the CGI-heavy film, Jack Black plays “Expert Crafter” Steve, also known as a playable character in the Minecraft video game. Emma Myers from “Wednesday”, Danielle Brooks from “The Color Purple”, Sebastian Eugene Hansen from “Just Mercy” and Jennifer Coolidge play the main roles in the film alongside Aquaman actor Jason Momoa.

The story follows four “outsiders” – Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Myers) and Dawn (Brooks) – who end up in the world of Minecraft and must protect it from piglins and zombies on their quest to return to their homeland.

To get back home, they must master this world (and also protect it from evil things like piglins and zombies) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, skilled crafter, Steve (Black).
