Mike Tyson quoted as Tony Bellew rages about trans athletes

Tony Bellew is angry about the participation of transgender athletes in women’s sports – and has cited Mike Tyson as evidence for his argument.

The gender debate in sport continues: a transsexual athletics star will take part in the upcoming Paralympics.

During the recent Olympic Games, there were rumors about the gender of Imane Khelif. The Algerian, who won gold, had to enjoy a lot of attention.

Khelif, for her part, has long insisted that she is a woman and was born and raised as such.

Bellew defended Khelif in an interview with Instant Casino.

However, he said it was “unfair” for trans athletes to compete against women, citing Tyson and Serena Williams as part of his argument.

Bellew said: “One thing I don’t agree with is this transgender thing we’re doing, where this person is born male and says, ‘Well, I want to compete against women.’

“I will not tolerate this in any way. I find it very unfair.”

“And I think we need to get away from the idea that men and women are all one species. No, we are not, we are different.

“I don’t understand. The greatest tennis player of all time, Serena Williams, couldn’t even compete on the tennis court with a man who is in the top 50.”

“We are a different species. And I don’t say that to belittle women, because I firmly believe that women are better than men, stronger than us.”

“If men gave birth to children, there would be no babies in this world.

“I’ve seen it four times. And I wouldn’t do it even if I wanted to. I’ve always been of the opinion that the stronger the better.

“The morals and qualities of a good, decent, strong woman are better than those of a man.”

“But when it comes to sport and physicality, there is no comparison at all. That would be unfair.”

“I mean, if Mike Tyson came out tomorrow and said, ‘I now identify as a woman and I’m going to go into the heavyweight division,’ you would just say, ‘That’s just wrong.'”

“People want to identify with that. I have no problem with however you identify. That’s fine, do that, but don’t force yourself on anyone.

“I want to get some kind of physical combat or some kind of physical benefit out of what you identify with.

“I don’t agree with that. Just protect the sport.”

“It’s not about protecting women’s sport. Let’s protect sport as a whole.”

Mike Tyson

Tony Bellew cited Mike Tyson as an example, saying that he thinks it would be “unfair” if he hypothetically underwent a sex change and fought against a woman.

Tyson, meanwhile, is currently preparing for his fight against Jake Paul on November 15th.

And Bellew is angry about the fight, expressing his belief that it is “purely about money.”

“He doesn’t want to hurt anyone. Anyone who saw the argument yesterday with the pushing and shoving – it’s funny, it’s a joke,” he said.

“This is all about money. This is all about money.”
