NEW ORLEANS – The Broncos have gotten reinforcements for their game on Thursday night against the Saints.

They activated right tackle Mike McGlinchey (knee), outside linebacker Baron Browning (foot) and cornerback Damarri Mathis (ankle) from injured reserve and brought back a trio of players with extensive experience.

McGlinchey and Browning each spent at least four weeks on injured reserve, while Mathis has been there since the roster cut deadline expired at the end of August.

Denver had two open roster spots and also waived rookie running back Blake Watson on Thursday, the team announced. The Broncos would like to sign Watson, who was signed to the original 53-man roster as an undrafted free agent, back to the practice squad if he clears waivers on Friday. In another series of transactions by the team, safety Tanner McCalister was also officially re-signed to the practice squad.

Heights: In addition to the changes to the 53-man roster, the Broncos signed inside linebacker Kwon Alexander and offensive lineman Calvin Throckmorton from the practice squad for Thursday night’s game. Both previously played for the Saints and both have veteran experience. It’s the second straight game Throckmorton has been promoted since center Luke Wattenberg was placed on injured reserve. It’s the first time for Alexander, who was added to the practice squad in Week 4 following Alex Singleton’s season-ending knee injury.
