Michigan football loses four-star QB Carter Smith after he decommits

With all the uncertainty surrounding Michigan football and five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, the Wolverines just lost 2025 four-star quarterback Carter Smith. Fort Myers (FL) prospect Bishop Verot announced late Wednesday night that he was withdrawing from the University of Michigan.

“First, I want to thank the Michigan coaching staff for everything they have done for me. I especially want to thank Coach Campbell for everything and for giving me such an incredible opportunity. With that in mind, I would like to announce that I have withdrawn from the University of Michigan.

With Smith gone, could this mean Michigan is calling the shots for Underwood? This remains to be determined, but it’s obvious that Michigan is spending massive amounts of money on the No. 1 team in all of high school football. But now the Wolverines have no quarterback signed in the 2025 cycle,
