Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence Injuries: Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy Provides Update

The Cowboys got some bad injury news on Friday night, Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy revealed DeMarcus Lawrence The ankle sprain is worse than Micah Parsons’ ankle injury. The head coach said both players will have a second opinion, but that both injuries are worse than they originally expected. according to Jon Machota.

Earlier Friday, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that Lawrence was expected to be out for several weeks following the injury. Lawrence limped off the field in the third quarter. He then made his way to the locker room to take an X-ray, but it came back negative. Lawrence didn’t seem too worried about the injury.

“I’ll be back in no time,” Lawrence said after the game.

He added: “It doesn’t hurt, but it’s going to be okay.”

However, given Pelissero’s schedule, it looks like Lawrence will miss the Week 5 road game against the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-0) and the Week 6 home game against the Detroit Lions (2-1). The Cowboys have a bye in Week 7, giving Lawrence plenty of time to rest and recover for the second half of the season.

DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons are both injured

Unfortunately for Dallas, Lawrence isn’t the only key defensive player they could be without against Pittsburgh and Detroit. Star linebacker Micah Parsons He was diagnosed with an upper ankle sprain on Friday and his status going forward has yet to be determined.

Parsons initially underwent an X-ray of his left ankle, but it came back negative. He suffered the injury in the fourth quarter after playing offense for the Giants Greg Van Roten fell on his leg as he charged towards the passerby. Parsons had to be carried off the field and was seen walking cautiously as the team arrived back in Dallas on Friday morning.

“Right now I just froze it,” Parsons said. “I know very little. I have an MRI (Friday) and will try to come back next week.”

Parsons was held relatively in check by New York’s offensive line, recording just two tackles and zero quarterback hits. Lawrence, meanwhile, recorded the Cowboys’ only sack.
