After visiting Hurricane Helene-ravaged North Carolina on Thursday, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas stopped at the upscale sushi restaurant Nobu in Washington, DC

Mayorkas visited North Carolina and delivered an update via satellite to the White House press conference Thursday afternoon, assuring that the federal government can handle both Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton relief.

“No resources needed to respond to Hurricane Helene will be diverted to respond to Hurricane Milton,” Mayorkas said. “We have made it clear that we will be there for every affected community every step of the way.”
