Florida State football (1-7 overall, 1-6 ACC) has a chance to end its four-game losing streak against North Carolina (4-4, 1-3) on Saturday at Doak Campbell Stadium. Kickoff is 3:30 p.m. on the ACC Network. Keep scrolling to get the latest updates and highlights.

The Seminoles enter the race as slight favorites and have won their last two games against the Tar Heels. FSU also has a 9-2-1 lead against UNC in Tallahassee. After a win at Virginia last week, UNC is looking for consecutive road wins for the first time since 2022.

UNC coach Mack Brown is a former FSU player and assistant coach. He is 0-11 all-time against the Seminoles, including an 0-2 mark since taking over the Tar Heels in 2019. UNC is led by running back Omarion Hampton, who has rushed for over 100 yards in seven of eight games. FSU is expected to use Brock Glenn at quarterback, but Luke Kromenhoek is also expected to play.

FSU football highlights vs. North Carolina

While FSU led 3-0 after the first quarter, quarterback Brock Glenn and the Seminoles were held in check by the Tar Heels. FSU had two first downs and 35 total yards, including 33 passes. Glenn completed one of three passes. Running back Lawrance Toafili had five carries for 8 yards. Glenn lost 8 yards to sacks. UNC, meanwhile, had 121 total yards and 96 passes.

UNC, which ranks 16th in the ACC in four-down conversions, was turned away from the FSU 1 on four-and-goal. Tar Heels running back Omarion Hampton was stopped cold by the middle of the defense, led by linebacker Omar Graham. Graham filled the gap cleanly and found Hampton at the line of scrimmage.

Darius Washington, who missed last week’s game, and Jeremiah Byers are listed as starters. This is FSU’s seventh different starting lineup in eight games.

FSU vs North Carolina Predictions

Liam Rooney, Democrat from Tallahassee: UNC 27, FSU 13

“The Seminoles’ year of unfortunate firsts continues as Brown earns its first win over his alma mater and FSU loses its fifth straight game. Hampton took advantage of FSU’s weak run defense and again recorded over 100 yards to lift the Tar Heels to a two-score victory.”

Peter Holland Jr., Tallahassee Democrat: FSU 20, UNC 16

“UNC’s defense is in no way inferior, and FSU needs to play a clean, balanced offense. It should be a low-scoring game, but FSU should be able to win in all three phases.”

JD McCarthy, FSU Wire: UNC 30, FSU 23

“North Carolina and Florida State both struggled during the season, but the Tar Heels still managed to post a .500 season while FSU looks for its second win. North Carolina enters the game with some momentum after scoring 41 points last week. “FSU’s offense against Virginia wasn’t enough in my opinion to keep up, but it won’t be enough.

Friday’s BetMGM lines and odds:

  • Spread: UNC (-2½)
  • Over/under: 50½ points
  • Money line: UNC -130, FSU +110
