Long Beach State’s women’s volleyball team will host LMU in an exhibition match on Saturday

LONG BEACH, California – The Long Beach State women’s volleyball team will take the court for the first time in the 2024 season on Saturday, August 24, when the Beach hosts Loyola Marymount in an exhibition match at 1 p.m.

The Beach players, voted third in the Big West Preseason Coaches’ Poll, return 13 top performers from last year, including the 2023 Big West Setter of the Year. Zayna Meyer. Meyer subsequently collected All-Region honors. She will be supported in the Big West Preseason Team by the experienced outside attacker Natalie Glennwho was named to the All-Big West Second Team in 2023.

In addition to a number of talented returnees, Long Beach State has also added four first-year middle blockers. Presley YatesFreshman Setter/Opposite Madi MaxwellFirst-year defensive specialist Kamryn Santiand freshman setters Madi Collins.

LBSU is led by interim coach Natalie Reaganwho is in her first year at the helm after serving as assistant coach last season. Joining Reagan on the sidelines are assistant head coach Bjarne House and assistant coach Jordan Molinawho are both graduates of Long Beach State.

The Beach team will begin the 2024 season on the road before playing its first home game against Northwestern on Thursday, September 5 at 7 p.m. at the Walter Pyramid.
