“Murdergram Deux” by LL Cool J, a bass-heavy track from his latest album The power, was the rapper’s first collaboration with Eminem. The rap legends have now teamed up again for the single’s music video, which features the iconic album cover by LL Cool J and Big Daddy Kane in the background.

The music video shows the cover of LL Cool J’s second album. Bigger and slowerwhich included hits like “I’m Bad” and “I Need Love” before moving on to Big Daddy Kane’s Greek-inspired cover of Long live Kane. The music video also features references to LL Cool J’s “Going Back to Cali” music video and Vibe’s 1996 cover of “Live from Death Row.”

Although this is the duo’s first official release together, they previously performed “Going Back To Cali” and “Rock The Bells” at the 2021 Rock Hall of Fame ceremony. A Rolling Stone The review called the hip-hop album “lyrically competitive even after 39 years of rhyming” and gave credit to Q-Tip, who “modernizes LL’s sound for those who actually want to stream a new LL Cool J album, giving them what they came for: swagger (‘Murdergram Deux’ with Eminem), lover-man vibes (‘Proclivities’) and some old-school rap storytelling (‘Spirit of Cyrus’).”

On August 27, MTV announced that LL Cool J will perform at the Video Music Awards in New York on September 11, along with Shawn Mendes, Karol G and Anitta. He last performed at the awards ceremony in 2023, along with Nicki Minaj, Doug E. Fresh and Lil Wayne, for the 50th anniversary of the hip-hop tribute.
