Lizzo hints at starting work on a new album – Music News

Lizzo has hinted that she has started working on a new album.

The 36-year-old singer shared a hot video of herself in a very revealing red swimsuit that leaves little to the imagination, and used the clip to hint that she has new music in the pipeline.

She captioned the Instagram post: “I didn’t mean to post this on IG but my 2021 self would be soooo proud of my 2024 self.

“And I’m NOT just talking about my body, if you only KNEW what I’ve done for my mental and emotional health over the last year… phew, don’t worry, I’ll write an album about it. (sic)”

The “Truth Hurts” hitmaker hasn’t released an album since 2022’s “Special,” and earlier this week she hinted that she would be taking a break from the music business.

Alongside a video post on Instagram, Lizzo wrote: “I’m taking a year off and protecting my peace (prayer emoji) (sic)”

In the video, Lizzo, who is currently on vacation in Bali, Indonesia, stands outside on a balcony in a bathing suit while the rain pours down on her head.

Earlier this year, she apparently announced her retirement from the music business because she was tired of “becoming a laughing stock.”

In March, she wrote on Instagram: “I am tired of everyone putting me down in my life and on the internet.

“All I want is to make music and make people happy and help make the world a little better than I found it. But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me anymore.”

“I am constantly faced with lies being spread about me in order to gain influence and views… and each time I am ridiculed because of my appearance.

“My character is being torn apart by people who don’t know me and don’t respect my name. I didn’t sign up for this shit. (sic)”

However, Lizzo later made it clear that she would not leave the music industry.

She said: “I’m not paying attention to negative energy anymore. What I won’t give up is the joy in my life, which is making music and connecting people, because I know I’m not alone.”
