It feels great to be back. It can’t get better than a Champions League game at Anfield. The new stand looks fantastic and we are really looking forward to the game.

(Lampard: Have you told your players about the Anfield atmosphere?) Not too much, not too much. We concentrate more on the opponent. Surely there comes a moment at Anfield when you have to have a plan, so let’s see.

It’s all about football and playing against Liverpool, who are probably the best team in Europe at the moment. It’s a great game for us, probably our toughest (in the league phase).

He is already a Leverkusen legend after leading them to the first Bundesliga title in their history. Inevitably there was a bit of second album syndrome and after nine games they are seven points behind Bayern Munich, but they still give everyone a game. Even Liverpool, one of the best teams in Europe.
