The Tennessee Titans play a close game with the Buffalo Bills in the third quarter at Highmark Stadium.

Mason Rudolph was steady and efficient in his first start with the Titans, throwing for 155 yards and a touchdown in the first half. Tennessee’s tight ends all contributed, including Chig Okonkwo (3 catches, 42 yards). Tony Pollard rushed for 65 yards on 11 carries in the first half.

The Titans’ defense had been able to contain Josh Allen and the Bills’ offense to this point, with the Bills gaining just 90 total yards in the first half. Tennessee is playing well even without cornerback L’Jarius Sneed, who is inactive with a quadriceps injury.

Tennessee (1-4) is on the verge of its first 1-5 start since 2015. Follow Tennesseans’ live Titans game updates below:

Tennessee Titans vs. Buffalo Bills: Live updates, highlights from NFL game Week 7

Buffalo adds three more points on a 28-yard field goal by Tyler Bass. Key plays of the drive included a 19-yard catch by Amari Cooper to Jarvis Brownlee and an offside penalty by Jeffery Simmons on 3rd-and-1 after it appeared Josh Allen missed a sneak.

Still, it was crucial for the Titans defense to prevent the Bills from making a field goal. Still a one-score game.

Kenneth Murray falls down after a catch by Ray Davis and gets back up after being looked at by the Titans staff.

Moments later, Murray walked into the Titans’ locker room after spending some time in the injury tent. He walks under his own power.

UPDATE: The Titans say Murray’s return is questionable due to a shoulder injury.

Gregory Rousseau has been wearing down Nicholas Petit-Frere all game, and now he finally gets to Mason Rudolph for a sack. After a DPI draw by Calvin Ridley early in the possession, the Titans attack is almost stopped in midfield.

Tennessee knocks the ball away and it feels like the Titans defense needs to get a stop here. Despite Rudolph’s efficiency, this was not a high-octane offense. The Titans are currently unable to overcome double-digit deficits.

Josh Allen and the Bills offense quickly take advantage of the good field position. Allen finds Keon Coleman and Dalton Kincaid for first-down gains, then finds an open Amari Cooper in the back of the end zone for a 12-yard touchdown pass. PAT good.

Tennessee is just so behind. Difficult start to the third quarter.

After a 9-yard second-down scramble by Mason Rudolph, Tony Pollard loses a yard on 3rd-and-1 near the Titans’ 44-yard line. The Tennessee offense stays on the field on 4th and 2, and Tony Pollard again loses a yard on a run that had no chance.

Not only was Brian Callahan’s decision ill-advised, the style of play also left a lot to be desired. The Titans defense will have to hold on again.

Titans stats

  • Mason Rudolph: 18-23, 155 yards, TD
  • Tony Pollard: 11 carries, 65 yards
  • Chig Okonkwo: 3 catches, 42 yards
  • Calvin Ridley: 2 catches, 33 yards
  • Tyler Boyd: 4 catches, 31 yards
  • DeAndre Hopkins: 1 catch, 6 yards
  • Nick Westbrook-Ikhine: 2 catches, 10 yards, touchdown
  • Harold Landry: 2 total tackles, TFL, pass defended

Billing statistics

  • Josh Allen: 4-11, 65 yards; 1 carry, 7 yards
  • James Cook: 6 carries, 26 yards, TD
  • Keon Coleman: 1 catch, 44 yards
  • AJ Epenesa: 2 total tackles, sack, forced fumble, pass defended

Very good half for the Titans, but the lead is only 10-7. Tennessee gets the kickoff to start the second half.

First half stats follow.

Mason Rudolph is sacked by Buffalo’s AJ Epenesa over Rudolph’s blindside and the ball is free. After a few jumps, Lloyd Cushenberry recovers. It’s a 20-yard loss, but a crucial recovery considering the Titans are deep in their own territory.

Tennessee’s defense holds, helped by Arden Keys’ first sack of the season. The Bills put the ball away. The Titans defense was stingy in the first half.

The good news: Tony Pollard passed the concussion test and returned to the game.

The bad news: A mishandled snap between Mason Rudolph and Lloyd Cushenberry results in a fumble and Bills recovery in Tennessee territory. Buffalo’s Terrel Bernard recovers.

Josh Allen finds Keon Coleman wide open up the middle for a 44-yard catch-and-run, and James Cook scores on the next play with an 11-yard touchdown run. PAT good.

Buffalo covers 61 yards in three plays for the touchdown. Keep playing.

On 3rd-and-goal, Mason Rudolph has time and space to scramble, and he eventually finds Nick Westbrook-Ikhine for a 3-yard touchdown pass. PAT good.

This is about the Titans offensive line owning the line of scrimmage. Rudolph was not sacked and the Titans have 49 rushing yards on nine carries.

Tony Pollard walks off and goes to the injury tent after being hit in the head by Buffalo CB Taron Johnson, who creates a flag on third down to extend the drive. Julius Chestnut is the only other active Titans running back available. The Titans drive after Johnson’s personal foul penalty, now 1st and goal.

The Titans defense came into the game and shut down the Bills with three 3-and-outs in three possessions. Josh Allen is 1 of 5 for 5 yards.

For Buffalo, WR Curtis Samuel’s return is questionable due to a shoulder injury.

The Titans gained 61 yards on 13 plays and opened the scoring with a 25-yard field goal by Nick Folk. Mason Rudolph remained steady and completed passes to Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Tyler Boyd on third down to move the chains on the drive. But his 3rd and 12th pass to Boyd missed the gain line and led to the Folk FG.

Tennessee’s offense looks more stable with Rudolph at QB, but not necessarily more explosive. No goals yet for DeAndre Hopkins.

Nicholas Petit-Frere is in the Titans’ second offensive role in place of Jaelyn Duncan, whose return is questionable due to a hamstring injury. Tennessee’s right tackle conundrum continues.

Mason Rudolph opened with a few easy throws to tight ends, including one to Josh Whyle for a first down. But Rudolph’s third down pass to Calvin Ridley is incomplete.

Good start for the Titans defense, helped in part by a drop from Amari Cooper in the third period. Bills go 3-and-out.

After a punt penalty, the Titans are forced back into their own territory.

Josh Allen and the Bills offense will get the ball first. How will the Titans defense fare without L’Jarius Sneed?

Jaelyn Duncan practices with the rest of the starting offensive line at right tackle during pregame warmups, so it looks like he’ll start today.

It’s a very current inactive list for the Tennessee Titans ahead of today’s game. The full list:

  • DL Keondre Coburn
  • QB Will Levis
  • TE David Martin Robinson
  • LB Caleb Murphy
  • CB L’Jarius Sneed
  • RB Tyjae Spears
  • OL Leroy Watson

Levis is inactive, which means Trevor Siemian will back up Mason Rudolph. Sneed was listed as questionable with a quadriceps injury. Watson started at right tackle last week but will not be available on Sunday.

Inactive invoices:

  • LB Joe Andreessen
  • OL will clap
  • DB Mike Edwards
  • DL Zion Logue
  • LB Eddie Ulofoshio

The Titans exceeded reporter Nick Suss’ prediction: Buffalo Bills 20, Tennessee Titans 13

Unless the Titans’ offense proves it is a threat, it’s hard to imagine the results being any different. The Bills are really good at home. Allen is a completely different caliber of quarterback than the Titans have faced all year. And it’s hard to predict this team going to Buffalo and pulling off the upset when the Bills have played pretty well in close games and the Titans just haven’t.

Inactives will be announced Sunday at 10:30 a.m. CT. For now, here is the full injury report for the two teams starting the game.

Titans injury report

  • DL Keondre Coburn (knee) – Out
  • LB Cedric Gray (shoulder) – Out
  • RB Tyjae Spears (hamstring) – Out
  • WR Treylon Burks (knee) – Out
  • QB Will Levis (shoulder) – Questionable (reportedly won’t start)
  • CB L’Jarius Sneed (Quad) – Questionable

Bill’s injury report

  • RB Darrynton Evans (hamstring) – Doubtful
  • RB Ray Davis (calf) – Questionable
  • DB Mike Edwards (Illness) – Questionable

Tickets for Sunday’s game on StubHub start at $147, excluding fees.

The National Weather Service forecast for Sunday in Orchard Park calls for a fairly nice afternoon, with temperatures of 65 degrees at kickoff, relatively calm winds and no chance of precipitation. High temperatures of 69 degrees are forecast for Sunday.
