The Lions came out of halftime and extended their big halftime lead by taking a 34-6 lead against an overwhelmed Cowboys team. As the game seemed to be getting out of hand, Hutchinson got a sack on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, but his leg was wrapped awkwardly and Hutchinson immediately appeared to be in pain.

With coaches tending to Hutchinson, every Lions player left the sidelines to be by Hutchinson’s side. Jared Goff approached Hutchinson as he lay on the ground, Sam LaPorta left the field with a towel over his head. And Alex Anzalone pulled Hutchinson close before driving away on a medical cart.

Hutchinson, the No. 2 pick in the 2022 draft, has had a breakout season and is the heart of the Lions defense, which ranked fourth in the NFL against the run entering the game. He had at least one sack in each of the Lions’ first three games and 4½ in a Week 2 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and led the NFL with 23 pressures, according to Pro Football Reference.
