Lennox Lewis has warned that Jake Paul will be “in trouble” when Mike Tyson unleashes his power in the ring next week.

YouTube star Paul has gone 10-1 as a professional boxer in recent years and his next challenge is an officially sanctioned fight against Tyson, one of the greatest heavyweight champions in the history of the sport.

Paul, 27, and Tyson were due to fight each other in July but the 58-year-old pulled out after suffering health problems in May. “Iron Mike” suffered an ulcer attack during a flight and the fight was postponed until November 15th.

Former British heavyweight world champion Lewis is one of the few fighters to beat Tyson when they met in the winter of their careers in 2002.

While he recognized that Tyson’s age could be a major factor, Lewis predicted that Paul would face punishment if caught by one of boxing’s greats.

“It’s hard to box when you’re that old, moving around the ring, throwing punches, getting punches thrown at you, but I think he can handle it,” Lewis told Sky Sports.

“I thought Jake Paul would be in trouble because Mike Tyson knows how to throw great body punches and great headshots. We’ll just have to see if he’ll implement it in the ring – I hope he will.

“(I expect) Mike Tyson to cut the ring and throw body and head punches if he can catch Jake Paul. I’m sure Jake Paul will move quickly around the ring. He’s not going to stand there and want to get beaten by Mike Tyson!

“I’ll be there and it’ll be exciting.”

As the fight looms, Netflix has produced a documentary surrounding the controversial contest, which the streaming platform will air live next week.

“When I got the news that he was out and couldn’t fight, I just froze,” Paul said in the documentary.

“I was like, ‘Damn…’ I’m the type of person that likes a schedule and likes to know what I’m doing. That just threw a spanner in the works. There was nothing I could do, it was out of my control.

“No one can tell Mike Tyson what to do and if he wants to fight me, of course I will say yes. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fight one of the two most famous boxers of all time – Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson.

“I consider Mike Tyson a killer, so I never really expected anything like this.”
