EXCLUSIVE: law and order is entering the podcast business.

Universal Television and Wolf Entertainment, the producers of the long-running crime series, have signed a deal with iHeartPodcasts to Law and order: criminal justice system.

This move marks the brand’s first foray into investigative journalism and its first podcast series – a Law & Order: SVU Podcast summary, The crew room, was launched in 2019 and around 25 episodes were broadcast.

The contract includes four seasons with 12 episodes each. The first season starts on August 22nd.

Hosted by former Brooklyn homicide attorney Anna-Sigga Nicolazzi, the series begins with an exploration of the American Mafia in New York City, tracing the true downfall of the most notorious criminal organization in history. Set in 1979, the series shows how an unlikely team of young local police officers and prosecutors manage to overcome all odds to break the Mafia’s hold on the city.

It begins with the assassination of Carmine Galante, a powerful boss of the Bonanno crime family. The murder would become a landmark in the Mafia Trial – the case that forever crippled organized crime in the United States and ended the Mafia’s golden era. It contains first-hand accounts of the investigations, surveillance, litigation and personal sacrifices of those on the front lines.

Law & Order: Criminal Justice System is executive produced by Elliot Wolf, who also serves as EVP of Digital for Wolf Entertainment, and is distributed by iHeartPodcasts.

Law & Order: Special Unit for Victims goes into the 26th season and law and order goes into its 24th season.
